MAG invites applications from experienced INGO managers to work at MAG HQ as Regional Programme Managers and Regional Directors. These roles will be based out of HQ in Manchester, UK and will provide high quality support and oversight to our overseas programmes. Possible work portfolios will be discussed with shortlisted candidates at interview.
MAG saves lives and builds futures by working with others to reclaim land contaminated with the debris of conflict, to reduce the daily risk of death or injury for civilians, and to create safe and secure conditions for development. MAG shared the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize as a founding member of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines for our work to ban landmines. These are excellent opportunities for an experienced senior manager to lead a regional portfolio of MAG programmes, with oversight of programme and project development, implementation and deliver for an international NGO.
Post holders will coordinate MAG’s regional strategic approach, supporting Country Directors in the development and implementation of business plans, including coordinating expansion into new countries and the development and strengthening of donor relationships. This is a challenging and varied role, offering the opportunity to use your wide-ranging management experience to influence the organisation and the wider sector. The post-holder will be expected to lead and coordinate complex networks of relationships across the region and beyond.
The successful candidate will have excellent project management, business planning and budget management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple activities at the same time. Experience of working in a senior management position in a development or humanitarian organisation is essential, and experience of working in humanitarian mine action or arms management and destruction (AMD) sector would be highly advantageous. Regular travel will be essential in this role, which could be to a MAG programme, or to meet with donors or other stakeholders – you could be in Manchester one week, visiting Washington the next, then Mali or the Democratic Republic of Congo. French language skills are also desirable.
